About the Role
As a Prep Technician – Lighting you will help keep professional lighting equipment ready for its next hire! You’ll inspect, clean and prepare kit, identify damage or missing parts, and make sure equipment is safely returned to stock or escalated for technical assessment. It’s a hands-on role where your attention to detail will directly support smooth operations and excellent customer service.
What you will be doing in this role
• Receive, clean, inspect and prepare professional lighting equipment before and after hire.
• Check equipment, cables, connectors, accessories and cases for damage, wear or missing parts.
• Record inspection outcomes accurately, returning equipment to stock or escalating items that need technical attention.
• Pick, scan, pack, move and store equipment safely to help deliver accurate, on-time customer orders.
• Work closely with warehouse and technical colleagues to keep preparation areas safe, organised and efficient.
What you will bring to the role
• Experience in a warehouse, hire, logistics, events, AV, theatre, production or a similar hands-on environment.
• A careful, methodical approach and strong attention to detail when checking equipment and recording information.
• The confidence to identify, quarantine and clearly report damaged, incomplete or potentially unsafe equipment.
• Good organisation, communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work safely in a busy environment.
• A positive, reliable attitude and willingness to learn; knowledge of professional lighting equipment is desirable.
