Samsung SUR40 is the new generation of Microsoft© Surface© experience featuring PixelSense™ technology, which gives LCD panels the power to see without the use of cameras. Building from the innovation of the first version of Microsoft© Surface© and Samsung’s leading display technology, it is now possible for people to share, collaborate and explore together using a large, thin display that recognizes fingers, hands and other objects placed on the screen.
The Samsung SUR40 enables people to communicate, collaborate and connect by easily interacting with digital content using touch and physical objects. SUR40 is designed in a revolutionary horizontal table-like form that enables people to interact with the display from any point around the device, and can also be mounted vertically or on a tilt.
Samsung SUR40 with Microsoft® PixelSense™
Samsung SUR40 provides business customers a premier touch-first experience for their end-users, built on the principles of direct interaction and together computing, with a new look and feel. It also allows commercial application developers to use a new version of the Microsoft© Surface© SDK and familiar Microsoft development tools to take full advantage of the massive multi-touch and object recognition capabilities of PixelSense™ and deliver experiences not possible on any other platform.
PixelSense™
PixelSense™ allows an LCD display to recognize fingers, hands, and objects placed on the screen, including more than 50 simultaneous touch points. With PixelSense™, pixels in the display see what’s touching the screen and that information is immediately processed and interpreted.
40-Inch High-Definition Screen
The 40-inch high-definition screen enables unparalleled multi-touch, multi-user experience with a 1080p, 16:9, 1920 x 1080 display.
Thin Form Factor with Multiple Configuration Options
The Samsung SUR40 is four inches thin, which makes it easy to use in a horizontal deployment, hang on the wall with the VESA mount, or embed in walls or custom enclosures. There are standard legs available or a customer can design and attach their own.
Powerful Embedded System
The product uses the embedded AMD Athlon™ II X2 Dual-Core Processor 2.9GHz paired with AMD HD6750M GPU featuring DirectX© 11 support to deliver significant processing horsepower and outstanding graphics capability.
As standard the SUR40 works interactively with Bing images and maps. All other software needs to be adapted or developed for use.

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ
All Samsung SUR40’s are pre calibrated and require no calibration for the first 1000 hours, the calibration icon must not be pressed under any circumstances.
Please find enclosed a venue readiness guide, this document highlights the optimum environmental conditions for SUR40 operation. Note that the product will not work in direct lighting conditions.
It is the resellers responsibility to check that the table will be installed in the right environment. Midwich and Samsung will offer advice here. We advise that all resellers should carry out a site survey and send pictures back to Midwich for advice.
The above information must be relayed to all end users, Engineers and Project Managers to ensure that the SUR40 is correctly proposed and installed. You must also read the manual shipped with the SUR40 before installing the unit.
Midwich and Samsung are not liable should these instructions not be adhered to and the proper advice not sought. Midwich will not take back or credit any units under any circumstances where the instructions have not been followed.
